Eligio’s yarn paintings hold profound spiritual significance, serving as Nierikas, or sacred doorways to the divine—each piece is a passage into the spiritual world as envisioned by the shaman.
Artist's Description: The double-headed eagle represents the bridging of earth and sky. The two deer are reflections of one another, helping us learn from multiple paths in the nierika. At the place where these reflections meet, the shaman leaves offerings for the ancestors, including feathers, so that the prayers may fly to the light. This process is a part of one's path to becoming a shaman.
