Eligio’s yarn paintings hold profound spiritual significance, serving as Nierikas, or sacred doorways to the divine—each piece is a passage into the spiritual world as envisioned by the shaman.
Artist's Description: This is where the Mara'akame discovered that Takuyasi (Father Sun) requires the sacrifice of the deer, for he is a person. The Mara'akame passed this knowledge on to the people who carry out this ceremony, because the people no longer know the ancestral religion of their grandparents. Kayumari wishes to be honored in the sacred place of Wiricuta.
